‘Mawson’s Gourmet Meats’, a family owned and operated Butchery has opened in Mawson Lakes. Owners Tony and Joanne have a combined experience of more than 25 years in the butchery and customer service/convenience meal industry. They live at Gulf view Heights and had been contemplating opening their own shopfront for 2 years when they decided to locate this business in Mawson Lakes.
Tony has been in the trade for 20 yrs having completed his apprenticeship at a small specialty butcher store in Malvern. This grew to be quite a well known store (and still is) ….for their easy, ready to go meals and traditional cut meats, along with great service! He also managed at the ‘Windsor meat store’ for many years. Joanne – Jo, served on the front counter whilst also working on some of the pre-prepared meals that they offered.
Their decision to open in Mawson Lakes was based on the fact that there was no independent Butcher in the community and they wanted to open a similar shop to the Windsor meats store which would be great for the single people who reside here, those who work in Mawson Lakes, Uni students, businesses and also the families of Mawson lakes.
They supply all the traditional style cuts, plus a variety of conveniently prepared meals ready to take home and cook without fuss. They mention their "steaks/sausages and patties", "yummy winter warming casseroles/stews/stir fries…." and "chicken rolled with delicious fillings."
Mawson’s Gourmet Meats make everything 'on site fresh' such as their own sausages, beef and chicken burger/patties/meatballs and much more ...
They also stock/make a range of gluten free products, sauces and small goods and some Halal certified meats. Please enquire in store.
Opening hours are currently: Monday through to Friday 9am til 6pm and Saturday 8.30 til 4pm (Sunday closed).
