The Mawson Centre

The Mawson Centre is the civic community centre prominently located on Main Street adjacent to the Town Centre. The Centre's vision is to become a state of the art innovative Cultural Community Learning and Information Centre.

Environmental Sustainable Design initiatives were introduced into the building's design at an early stage. Just some of the features incorporated in the design include: Orientation of the building on a east-west axis which allows light and ventilation into the centre of the building, use of products with low toxic emissions and low levels of volatile organic compounds, and natural interior furnishing fabric products as well as the utilisation of energy efficient equipment, appliances and processes.

Facilities

Venues within the Mawson Centre are available for hire and have been fitted out with the latest audio visual equipment. Facilities available for Community use include:

Library

The Mawson Lakes Library provides library and information resources and services for the community and Mawson Lakes School. Services include City of Salisbury community information, internet and email training, access to computers, English as a Second Language classes and story-time sessions for children under 5. 

Justice of the Peace

This is a free service available at the Library. Times are:

Aroma Cafe

With plenty of indoor and outdoor seating it is a great place to meet up with friends. Open Monday to Friday 8am - 5pm there are a variety of coffees, teas, soft drinks, juices and milkshakes to choose from. All go great with any of the menu items which include focaccia, turkish bread, wrapped and toasted sandwiches, hot soups and salads, Greek yoghurt and a wide assortment of pastries.
